Östersund - single-family house

Semidetached house Röda Lyktan

Sweden's first passive house north of Falun is a project being run by Jonas and Anna Tjernberg together with Magnus Rindberg. The climate is more severe than that of southern Sweden, which meant they encountered some initial resistance, but with time more and more companies as well as the municipality have shown their interest in contributing to a successful project.

The architect Kjell Gisterå was commissioned to design a modern passive house with both natural lighting and a sense of spaciousness.

The drawings had to be precisely detailed, which considerably assists construction.

The house is expected to be completed by the middle of January 2010.
